Henderson and Transylvania Counties Now Accepting Applications for Weatherization Assistance

October 30, 2007 is National Weatherization Day in the US. We would like to advise the public in Henderson and Transylvania counties that WCCA is now taking applications for assistance from our Weatherization Dept. for Weatherization work including insulating, air sealing, and tightening of dwellings. We are also taking applications for the Heating Appliance Repair or Replacement Program.

The work will be done from now until June 30, 2008 and is for low income persons/families who own or rent their homes. Applicants may contact Rhonda Maybin at 693-1711 or Stephanie O’Shields at 884-3220 to make an application appointment or for more information.

The best technologies in the field. The Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program may be able to help. The WAP/HARRP program this fiscal year were able to assist 100 units for Weatherization, plus repaired or replaced 50 heating & cooling units in the HARRP program. WAP measures can save 12 to 20% annually on your energy burden in the home.
